Lactation Consultations

Here are some of the services I provide:

• Lactation Education: 

  • Educating expectant parents about the benefits of chest/breastfeeding, including the importance of early initiation and exclusive chest/breastfeeding

  • Discuss the anatomy of the breast, milk production, and basic breastfeeding techniques. 

    This education helps parents feel more confident and prepared when their baby arrives.

• Prenatal Lactation Visits: 

  • Helps ensure a smooth start

  • Discuss lactation goals, address concerns, and develop a personalized breastfeeding/chestfeeding plan for the first weeks of life (including guidance on initiating nursing in the first few hours after birth and help parents understand what to expect in the early days)

• Feeding Assessments: 

  • Evaluation of the feeding process, observing and assessing the latch, positioning, and milk transfer to ensure optimal feeding (by identifying and addressing any challenges or obstacles, I work to help parents achieve pain-free and effective chest/breastfeeding)

• Managing Breast/chestfeeding Challenges: 

  • Help manage challenges such as nipple pain, engorgement, low milk supply, difficulty with latch, etc. 

    • Guidance and evidence-based strategies to manage these issues, offering support and reassurance along the way

• Assistance with Pumping and Bottle-Feeding: 

  • Guidance on pumping techniques and selecting the right breast pump, flange sizing, and establishing a pumping routine

  • Bottle refusal/aversions including finding the right bottle nipple to assist baby in accepting the bottle

• Supporting Special Situations: 

  • Twins, premature babies, or infants with special needs

    • Specialized support and information; helping parents establish a feeding plan to ensure adequate milk supply and promote successful nursing with their baby(ies).

Initial Consultation Investment

• In-Office: $250 (90-120 Minutes)

• In-Home: $275 (90-120 Minutes)

• Virtual: $175 (60-75 Minutes)

• $40 each additional baby

  Initial consults include:

  • Assessment of infant and lactating parent

  • Assessment of baby’s weight and oral function,

  • Text/email support (9am-9pm) for two weeks following the visit

  • Care plan with oral exercises to help improve baby’s oral function if needed and feeding plan that supports mental health in the postpartum period

  • Detailed communication with providers of your choice as needed

  • Initial craniosacral therapy session for infant - learn more about craniosacral therapy here

  Your insurance may pay for this service. Apply below to see. Subject to $50 travel fee for in-home TLN consults.

Follow Up Consultation Investment

• In-Office: $200 (60-90 Minutes)

• In-Home: $225 (60-90 Minutes)

• Virtual: $125 (45-60 Minutes)

• $40 each additional baby

  Follow up consults include:

  • Check in on how the previous time has gone with initial care plan

  • Reassessment of infant’s weight and oral function

  • Care plan including exercise plan (may or may not change depending on oral function of infant and goals of the lactating parent)

  • Craniosacral therapy is NOT included in follow-up visits. If you would like to add CST to your visit, there is a $50 add-on fee (CST is normally $120 for follow up visits)

Prenatal Consultation Investments

• In-Office Flange Fitting: $25 (30 Minutes)

• Virtual Private Lactation Class: $200

• In-Home Private Lactation Class: $250

• Virtual Prenatal Consult: $50

  Virtual prenatal consults are designed to build a relationship between us prior to the arrival of your baby or babies. Assistance in a personalized feeding plan is included as well as help deciding on a pump if needed.

Billing Information:

As of right now, I currently accept some insurances via the lactation network. to see if your insurance is covered to work directly with me, click here to apply.

Currently I accept HSA/FSA, CASH, credit/debit, venmo, paypal, or zelle.

I can also provide you with a superbill to submit to your insurance for possible reimbursement. While this sometimes works, it is not GUARANTEED.

*As per the State of MinnesotaCare Tax (Minnesota Statutes. Sec. 295.50), a 1.8% tax is applied to all lactation visits at the time of service.
